Swiss Miss: The Olympic Museum & Lovely Lausanne (Switzerland)

There are a ton of other interesting items from other premier athletes (Jesse Owens spiky jumping shoe from 1936 — a design that led to the first Adidas, Carl Lewis’ shoes from the 1984 Olympics in L.A., etc.).  Most of these items has a mini documentary that plays to give you the background on that athlete’s life.  Then, there were the general exhibits categorized by sport.  It was fascinating!

1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta!

Boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.

2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing

This high-tech museum is surrounded by a beautiful park.  The park has a lot of neat sculptures related to athletics.

After we left the Olympic Museum and Park, we headed to dinner and had beef-filled crepes.

I highly recommend a visit to the colorful city of Lausanne.  Definitely be sure to check out the Olympic Museum!
